Announcing the 2025 NJSRC T-Shirt Design Winner
Each year, the New Jersey Society for Respiratory Care invites its community to bring their creativity forward through our annual conference t-shirt design contest. What begins as a simple call for artwork has become a meaningful tradition—one that highlights not only artistic talent, but the pride, identity, and shared purpose of respiratory professionals across the state.
This year’s winning design did exactly that.
The 2025 Shore Conference T-shirt design, selected from a strong field of submissions, was created by a member of the Respiratory Care Department at St. Peter’s University Hospital. The design stood out for its thoughtful symbolism, strong visual impact, and its ability to capture the heart of what it means to work in respiratory care.
A Design with Meaning—Front and Back
The front of the shirt features a clean, bold layout anchored by the conference name and year, paired with a medical emblem that immediately signals professional identity. The vertical “NJSRC” treatment gives the design a modern, confident feel—simple, readable, and unmistakably connected to respiratory care.
The back of the shirt tells a deeper story.
Centered around the outline of the state of New Jersey, the design weaves together visual elements that respiratory therapists know intimately: the lungs, the heartbeat line, and respiratory equipment—all layered to represent the vital, life-sustaining work performed every day in hospitals, clinics, and care settings across the state. The inclusion of “RT” and “Respiratory” anchors the artwork in professional pride, while the overall composition reflects both technical expertise and human impact.
Together, the front and back designs strike a balance between clinical precision and personal meaning—a combination that resonated strongly with the selection committee.
Designed by One of Our Own
What makes this year’s winning entry especially meaningful is that it was created by someone actively working in the field. As a member of St. Peter’s University Hospital’s respiratory department, the designer brought firsthand experience into the creative process—translating daily responsibility, teamwork, and patient care into a visual expression of the profession.
That perspective matters. It’s what gives the design its authenticity and emotional weight, and it reflects the spirit of the NJSRC community: professionals supporting professionals.
A Shirt That Represents More Than a Conference
The annual Shore Conference t-shirt has become more than just event apparel. It’s something members wear to work, to class, and beyond—a visible symbol of belonging to a profession that plays a critical role in patient outcomes and public health.
This year’s winning design captures that sense of identity beautifully. It celebrates respiratory therapists not just for what they do, but for who they are: skilled, compassionate, resilient, and proud to serve.
We extend our sincere congratulations and thanks to the designer, and our appreciation to everyone who submitted a design this year. Your creativity continues to strengthen the culture and community of respiratory care in New Jersey.
We’re proud to wear this one.
