License renewal due date: March 31, 2026
If renewing after this date, a $100.00 late fee is applied. After April 30, 2026, you will not be able to renew online and must contact the licensing board or committee for reinstatement procedures and associated fees.

Licensees must notify the Board of any name or address changes within 30 days.

Access the Respiratory Care Practice Act

On the Board website, select Laws and Regulations. Under Statutes, click the available link to view New Jersey Statutes in their entirety on the Legislature website, then search for respiratory.

Note: The Respiratory Care Statutes link for Title 45:14E is not functional at this time.

The State Board of Respiratory Care was created by the provisions of the Respiratory Care Practitioner Act of 1991. This board licenses and regulates respiratory therapists in New Jersey.

Respiratory care is the health specialty involving the treatment, disease management, control, and care of patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiac and pulmonary system. Respiratory care practitioners administer oxygen and other medical gases to patients and perform treatments and tests under the supervision of physicians.
