WAYNE – As a respiratory therapist, saving lives is second nature to Marisol Flynn, but the feeling she gets when a victim regains consciousness is still precious to her.
A recent shopping run to Costco at Wayne Towne Center proved to be anything but routine for Flynn, 44, of Paterson, who works at CareOne in Wayne. While shopping on Tuesday around 4 p.m. she began to hear a lot of commotion and people anxiously yelling, “Is there a doctor here or a nurse?” Flynn saw a large crowd gathered around a middle-aged man who had collapsed onto the floor near the food court. Realizing the situation, she jumped into action, at a time when every second counts.
“When I knelt down by the man, he had no pulse and was definitely not breathing,” Flynn said.
