Giving Back When It Matters Most: NJSRC’s Commitment to Disaster Relief and Humanitarian Aid
At the New Jersey Society for Respiratory Care (NJSRC), service extends far beyond professional development and advocacy. Each year, our organization commits to supporting disaster relief and humanitarian efforts—because when crises strike, respiratory care professionals understand better than most how urgent and life-saving timely aid can be. 2025: A Collective Effort With Real Impact In 2025, NJSRC proudly raised $1,500 for disaster relief and humanitarian causes. These funds were made possible entirely through the generosity of our members—individuals who consistently show that compassion and service are not limited to the bedside or workplace. While no single contribution defines our mission, together these donations make a tangible difference. They help support rapid-response aid efforts in times of natural disasters, humanitarian emergencies, and public health crises—moments when communities need immediate support and resources. Part of a Larger Mission Through AARC NJSRC is proud to be a state society affiliated with the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC), a national organization that has long championed both professional excellence and humanitarian responsibility. Through this connection, NJSRC aligns with broader initiatives that promote emergency preparedness, public health support, and global relief efforts tied to respiratory care and patient well-being. Being part of this larger network allows our local efforts to contribute to a national—and sometimes global—impact, reinforcing the values that unite respiratory care professionals everywhere. Ongoing Support Through Member Engagement and Merchandise In addition to direct donations, a portion of all NJSRC merchandise sales is allocated to rapid emergency aid efforts. This means that every purchase—whether it’s apparel, accessories, or event merchandise—helps extend support to communities facing urgent need. For members who want to contribute directly, we also maintain a dedicated donation pathway, making it easy to support disaster relief initiatives throughout the year. These funds are directed toward organizations and efforts focused on immediate response and humanitarian assistance.
When disaster strikes, respiratory care professionals don’t look away—we step forward.

As we move forward, NJSRC remains committed to growing these efforts—strengthening our ability to respond quickly, responsibly, and meaningfully when disasters occur. The 2025 fundraising milestone is not an endpoint, but a reflection of who we are as a professional community: engaged, compassionate, and ready to help when it matters most. On behalf of the organization, thank you to every NJSRC member who contributed. Your generosity embodies the spirit of respiratory care and ensures that our impact reaches far beyond New Jersey.
